Using Autocad 2016, Win 7 64, PDF Converter Pro 7 and Adobe Reader I've been searching through the various posts on this subject, but have yet to find a solution. I've been using the same template, ctb, page setup, printer, etc for almost 5 years and have yet to run into this issue, however now it seems that it happens all the time. When the file is plotted, everything is almost unreadable, very light grey colors. It doesn't matter if I plot to PDF or print directly to the printer. I've tried changing everything to see if anything helps, but nothing does.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2013 and at the moment i am just using the dwg to pdf.pc3 included in AutoCAD. Prior to the problems. Way to print pdf than using.
Any suggestions? Does this sound like a Cad or PDF software issue? I've attached both the dwg and pdf files. I use PDF Creator Pro 7, but have also tried Adobe Reader. Neither worked. I can tell what a paper print will look like because the lines in the PDF viewer look like hidden lines (only they are black with grey where the spaces would be).
I also print the dwg to see how bad it is. After some more investigation and changes, it would appear that autocad is not reccognizing my ctb files. I set up a new dwg and added 10 lines, each set to a different color/lineweight. I then plotted 3 different setups 8.5x11, 11x17 and 22x34. I used 3 different ctb files which coorespond to the sheet sizes (the 11x17 has always worked).
I got the same results for all 3 when printed out. Grey unreadable lines and text. Hi, When I plot your drawing using the DWG to PDF.pc3 and monochrome.ctb from AutoCAD 2016, I see the variation in text and some lines that should be black (they display as alternating grey and black) when I view the PDF in Adobe Reader XI: The same file plotted with the same settings from AutoCAD 2015 displays a lot better, but not perfect, in Adobe Reader XI: Both of these PDFs plot correctly to a physical plotter for me. This leads me to believe this is an issue with Adobe Reader, not AutoCAD. Could you please verify that you're seeing the same spotty results when you plot to a physical plotter?. Directly from AutoCAD to the physical plotter?. Plotting to PDF first and then to the physical plotter?.
Do you see the same issue if the view the PDFs in another viewer?. Could you please attach your CTB file and a screenshot of your exact plot settings?
